Job summary

Jungheinrich United Kingdom seeks a Field Service Engineer to service & maintain materials handling equipment across Derby and Nottingham, performing preventative maintenance and on-site repairs with a focus on safety and quality.

You will work autonomously in the field, build strong customer relationships and contribute to continuous improvement, with a company vehicle, overtime opportunities and ongoing training provided.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering mindset with hands-on field experience.
• Experience diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on field equipment.
• Valid UK driving licence and the ability to work independently in customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on materials handling equipment.
• Diagnose faults using electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Complete accurate service reports, documentation, and parts management.
• Deliver excellent customer service on-site, acting as a company ambassador.
• Identify upsell opportunities and additional work where appropriate.
• Ensure full health & safety compliance at all times.

The Opportunity We're currently recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join a growing engineering team, supporting customers across the Derby & Nottingham regions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys varied, autonomous work, building relationships with customers while maintaining high-quality service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on materials handling equipment
• Diagnose faults using electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

About You

We're looking for candidates with a strong engineering mindset and practical experience, ideally from one of the following backgrounds:

• Automotive / Vehicle Technician
• HGV / Plant / Forklift Engineering
• Agricultural or Military Engineering

You'll also have:

• Solid mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
• Experience working in a field-based or customer-facing role
• The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
• A full UK driving licence
