Job summary

SMT Corp. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Customer Support team, servicing Volvo construction equipment across North and North West London, including Watford, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Harrow, Barnet, Enfield and Uxbridge.

Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related discipline, with proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, electrics, and diagnostic systems.
• Advanced fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment within territory.
• Work directly with customers and provide updates on status.
• Complete job documentation, timesheets, and electronic records in real time.
• Maintain safety, professionalism, housekeeping, and policy compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve machine performance and uptime.
