Job summary

SMT is seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover North and North West London, servicing Volvo construction equipment at customer sites. You’ll diagnose, maintain, and repair machines in the field, building strong customer relationships while ensuring uptime and reliable performance.

Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance or a related discipline and have a full UK driving licence with willingness to travel within the territory.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or related discipline.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK driving licence; willing to travel within territory.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing Volvo construction equipment within the designated territory.
• Work directly with customers and provide updates on machine status and repairs.
• Complete documentation, inspection reports and timesheets in real time.
• Maintain safety, professionalism and compliance with company policies.
