Field Service Engineer - Automated Systems

Location: Sheffield / Rotherham

Salary: £35,000 Basic salary. Up to £50,000 OTE including overtime & callouts

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Overview

Guided Talent is recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support a growing engineering operation across the Sheffield and Rotherham area. This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated access and security systems across varied client sites.

This is a highly varied position offering strong earning potential and long-term development for the right engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, repair, and commission automated systems on customer sites
  • Respond to breakdowns and scheduled maintenance visits
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control bisogno system faults
  • Complete digital service documentation and reports
  • Carry out site surveys and technical assessments
  • Participate in on-call rota and reactive support
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and customer service
Skills & Experience
  • Apprenticeship-trained engineer or equivalent field service background
  • Proven experience in fault finding and installation work
  • =self>Ability to work independently in a mobile role
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
  • Electrical qualifications (3-phase, 18th Edition, 24V systems)
  • PLC or control systems exposure
  • Automated gates, barriers, bollards, or similar equipment
  • Hydraulic or pneumatic systems
  • Welding or fabrication background
  • CSCS or recognised H&S training

  • Outdoor, site-based role in varied environments

  • Call-out rota participation required
