Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Engineer to support the HS2 project on site across the southern region including Coventry, Solihull, Birmingham and surrounding areas. The role is field-based, focusing on preventive servicing of Volvo construction equipment to maximise uptime and safety, in collaboration with site teams and customers.

You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent) and have experience with construction plant or heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Experience in repair and maintenance of construction plant and heavy equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with focus on quality.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance servicing and inspections on Volvo equipment for HS2.
• Produce detailed inspection reports and service documentation.
• Identify additional repair and aftermarket opportunities while staying commercially minded.
• Complete product updates and software updates as required.
• Maintain safety, customer service, and site compliance.
