Job summary

SMT GB is seeking an experienced Preventive Maintenance Engineer to support the HS2 project, carrying out planned servicing and inspections on Volvo construction equipment to maximise uptime and reliability.

This field-based role covers Coventry, Solihull, Birmingham, Warwick and surrounding areas; NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent) is essential, with travel to site required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance is essential.
• Experience in repair, servicing and maintenance of construction plant equipment.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned maintenance servicing and inspections on construction equipment.
• Documenting findings and preparing inspection reports and service records.
• Identify additional repair and service opportunities while maintaining safety standards.
• Assist with product updates, campaign work and software updates where required.
