Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Engineer to support the HS2 project across Coventry, Solihull, Birmingham, Warwick and surrounding areas. The field-based role requires NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance and hands-on experience with construction plant/equipment.

You will ensure equipment safety, reliability and uptime while delivering high service standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical fault-finding skills, good communication, a full UK driving licence and willingness

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience in repairing, servicing and maintaining construction plant/equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance servicing and inspections on construction equipment.
• Produce inspection reports, service documentation and electronic records.
• Identify repair and aftermarket opportunities while maintaining commercial focus.
• Perform product updates and software updates as required.
• Maintain high safety, service and compliance standards.
