Job summary

Coconut Lime Ltd. seeks a Field Technician - IT to be the main onsite presence across a Multi-Academy Trust of 19 primary schools, covering Exeter, Plymouth, and Torquay on a planned rota. You’ll work with a remote Helpdesk and a central technical team to resolve issues and drive improvements.

You’ll own day-to-day IT problems, deploy devices, support Microsoft 365 and Windows, and help plan longer-term infrastructure with the Strategic Manager. Driving licence and DBS clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Strong 1st and 2nd line IT support experience.
• Know Windows desktops and Microsoft 365 well.
• Confident troubleshooting of hardware, software and network issues.
• Understand networking, Wi‑Fi and general infrastructure.
• Diagnose independently and own issues through to resolution.
• Communicate clearly and work well with school staff and remote teams.
• Organise and prioritise your own workload across multiple sites.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a clean Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality 1st and 2nd line support across 19 primary schools.
• Work a planned rota while adjusting for urgent incidents.
• Diagnose hardware, software, network, Wi‑Fi, printing and user issues.
• Support Microsoft 365, Windows devices, accounts and school systems.
• Assist with device deployment, configuration and refresh programmes.
• Support networking, switches, wireless and onsite kit.
• Keep clear records of work done, open issues and recommendations.
• Spot recurring problems and opportunities to improve the estate.
• Scope and deliver IT projects and improvements with the Strategic Manager.
• Build strong relationships with Headteachers, SBMs and school staff.
• Flag where extra tech, services or projects would help a school or Trust.
• Support extra project work in school holidays.
