Job summary

Yorkshire Housing is seeking a Housing Officer for a 12-month fixed-term contract covering South and West Yorkshire. You will be out and about, delivering a customer-obsessed lettings service and guiding customers through pre-tenancy, sign-ups and settling in.

You will identify vulnerable customers, build strong partnerships with local agencies, and travel across Yorkshire to gather insights and provide timely guidance. A rewarding role with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused approach with a proven track record of helping customers.
• Experience across the tenancy lifecycle (lettings, sign-ups, settling-in, tenancy changes, sustainment).
• Ability to triage priorities, plan days, and adapt quickly to change.
• Clear, kind communication face-to-face, by phone and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new customers with a lettings experience that sets them up for success.
• Provide pre-tenancy information (including welfare benefits) and promote rent on time.
• Onboard with care and resolve early issues quickly and fairly.
• Spot vulnerable customers and refer to appropriate internal/external support.
• Spend time in communities building relationships and feeding insights into local plans.
