Job summary

Orbit Credit Services is hiring a Field Collections Agent in Chelmsford to meet customers at their homes and help them manage their finances with empathy and practical solutions. Travel within Chelmsford region, autonomous field work and face-to-face interactions are core to the role.

The position offers a flexible 40-hour week, with evening and weekend shifts possible, and a strong focus on customer engagement, payment plans, and compliance checks.

Qualifications

• Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
• Prefer working independently, outdoors and engaging with people face-to-face.
• Value flexibility and autonomy in your schedule.

Responsibilities

• Visit customers to resolve outstanding arrears and discuss payment options.
• Handle accounts for both regulated and non-regulated clients. This will include reconnection visits.
• Accept payments, set up repayment plans, and re-engage customers with client services.
• Educate customers about the potential consequences of non-payment.
• Use an Orbit-supplied iPad to update account outcomes in real time.

Location: Within a 90-minute travel radius of your home (applicants must reside within Chelmsford)

Salary: From £28,665 + £4,200 per annum car allowance + uncapped monthly bonus as a guide our current Field team earn monthly bonuses of up to £400

Earnings Potential: Up to £35,765 per year (inclusive of car allowance)

Hours: Flexible, 40 hours per week (including peak shifts)

About The Role

As a Field Collections Agent, you'll be the friendly face of Orbit, meeting customers at their homes to help them find a way forward with their finances. You’ll offer empathy, guidance, and practical solutions that make a real difference.

Your Key Responsibilities

Working Hours

We Offer a 40-hour Workweek With a Supportive Approach To Work-life Balance. Your Visits Will Be Scheduled Across The Following Operating Window

• Monday–Friday visiting times are between 8am-8pm


• A number of shift pattern options available, you can choose between a 4 day or 5 day working week.

Requirements

• Clear criminal record


• No CCJs, IVAs, or bankruptcies in the last 6 years


• Full driving licence (max 6 points), own car, and will require business insurance


• Tech-savvy and comfortable working independently
