Job summary

RES is seeking a Field Based Technical Sales Engineer to survey sites, design and quote Air Source Heat Pump systems, and manage technical handovers. You will ensure MCS compliance and support installers across the East England region, with travel and occasional overnight stays.

The role is full-time, based around East London or Ipswich, with a 42.5-hour week and typical office hours. Ideal candidates have a plumbing/heat pump background, knowledge of G3 unvented water systems, WRAS, and strong

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing & Heating.
• Heat Pumps: LCL/BPEC Heat Pump Design & Installation.
• G3 Unvented Hot Water, WRAS, and MCS standards knowledge.
• Experience in low-temperature hydraulic design and electrical fault-finding.
• Consultative mindset with ability to explain technical data to non-technical customers.
• Based in/around East London or Ipswich with travel and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site surveys, agree system specs with installers/homeowners, produce on-site quotations, commission Air Source Heat Pump systems, complete handovers, and resolve technical issues via remedial visits.
• Produce room-by-room heat loss calculations, system designs and performance assessments using company design tools; compile technical proposals and quotations; maintain CRM records.
• Act as the Nominated Technical Supervisor for regional MCS projects to ensure subcontracted installations meet MCS standards and Building Regulations.
• Provide phone-based and remote technical support; maintain strong relationships with installers; serve as a consistent technical contact.
