Job summary
RES-Distribution Ltd is seeking a field-based Technical Sales Engineer covering East England to design, specify, and commission air source heat pump systems for homes and installers. You will conduct site surveys, prepare quotes, and handovers, ensuring projects meet MCS and Building Regulations.
The role combines technical expertise with a consultative sales approach, requiring travel and occasional overnight stays within the region.
Qualifications
- Must have Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing & Heating.
- Heat pump design & installation qualifications (LCL/BPEC).
- Knowledge of G3 Unvented Hot Water, WRAS, and MCS standards.
- Experience with low-temperature hydraulic design and electrical fault-finding.
- Consultative mindset to translate technical data for customers.
- Willingness to travel and stay away when required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site surveys, specify systems with installers/homeowners, produce quotations, commission heat pump systems, and handovers.
- Produce room-by-room heat loss calculations and design using company tools, prepare technical proposals and CRM records.
- Act as Nominated Technical Supervisor for MCS projects ensuring compliance.
- Provide phone-based and remote technical support and maintain relationships with installers.
