Job summary

RES Limited is seeking a field-based Technical Sales Engineer to support renewable heating projects across East England. You will conduct site surveys, specify systems with installers and homeowners, and prepare quotations.

The role requires commissioning Air Source Heat Pump systems, handling handovers, and providing remote technical support while ensuring compliance with MCS standards. A consultative mindset and travel within the region are expected.

Qualifications

• Plumbing & Heating: Level 3 NVQ or equivalent.
• Heat Pumps: LCL/BPEC Heat Pump Design & Installation.
• Compliance: G3 Unvented Hot Water, WRAS, and knowledge of MCS standards.
• Technical Expertise: Experience in low-temperature hydraulic design and electrical fault-finding.
• Soft Skills: Consultative mindset to translate technical data for non-technical customers.
• Logistics: Based in/around East London or Ipswich; willing to travel and occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys; agree specifications with installers/homeowners; produce on-site quotations; commission Air Source Heat Pump systems; complete system handovers; resolve technical issues through remedial visits.
• Produce room-by-room heat loss calculations, system designs and performance assessments using company tools; compile technical proposals and quotations; maintain CRM records.
• Act as Nominated Technical Supervisor for regional MCS projects; ensure subcontracted installations meet MCS standards and Building Regulations.
• Provide phone-based and remote technical support; maintain relationships with installers; act as technical contact.
