Job summary

Working Solutions Recruitment is recruiting for a Field Based Sales Support Engineer for a well‑established client in England. This permanent, full‑time role involves UK‑wide travel and on‑site technical support across environmental equipment.

You will visit customer sites, perform trials, support commissioning and help customers optimise performance while developing commercial awareness and progressing toward technical sales opportunities.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering or technical qualification, or equivalent hands‑on industry experience.
• A practical engineering background, ideally involving field service, process equipment, commissioning, maintenance or troubleshooting.
• An interest in environmental technologies, industrial processes and technical problem‑solving.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with customers.
• A proactive, self‑motivated approach with the ability to manage your own workload and work independently.
• A willingness to learn new technologies and develop commercial awareness.
• Flexibility to travel regularly to customer sites across the UK.
• A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
• The right to work in the UK.
• Previous experience with process optimisation, commissioning or environmental equipment would be advantageous, although full training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer sites throughout the UK to provide technical assistance, troubleshoot equipment issues and improve operational performance.
• Carry out on‑site equipment trials, sample testing and performance assessments to support existing and potential applications.
• Assist with commissioning activities and process optimisation to ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
• Provide practical guidance and training to customers on the effective operation of their equipment.
• Develop strong, lasting relationships with customers, becoming a trusted point of contact for technical support.
• Work alongside the sales team to identify potential business opportunities and support customer enquiries through technical demonstrations and trials.
• Collaborate with technical and commercial colleagues to resolve challenges and deliver effective solutions.
• Prepare reports covering site visits, testing results, equipment performance and potential opportunities.
