Job summary

A regional care provider is seeking a female-only Support Worker in Barnsley. You will help individuals live within the community, providing practical assistance and emotional support. The ideal candidate should possess compassion and enthusiasm, preferably with experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities or complex care needs. Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and/or complex care is preferred.
  • Enthusiastic and compassionate nature is required.
  • Ability to work both alone and in a team.

Responsibilities

About The Role

We are recruiting for a Support Worker/Carer (female-only) in Barnsley to support people to live in and be part of the local community, within a supported living environment. Our services are about helping people to get out in the community and make the most of their time in their own homes.

Whilst fully embracing the company ethos support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.

Support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Job title: Support Worker - Female

Hours: Full-time (up to 40 hours per week)

Location: Barnsley (S73)

The role
  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
  • As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
  • Each person we support has 1 to 1 support.
  • Lone working and team-working.
  • Although a driving licence is not an essential requirement, it is desirable.
  • Experience with hoists is desirable to meet the needs of the service, as well as previous experience supporting people with acquired brain injuries.
