About your team:

At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it.

We’ve powered UK homes and businesses for over 200 years. But our focus is on making the UK greener and more energy efficient, moving closer to Net Zero through smart tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers, making it easier for customers to reduce their carbon footprint.

About your role:

This advert aims to inspire more females to pursue an engineering apprenticeship!

We aim to reach all our customers' net zero goals by 2050, recognizing some may feel more comfortable with a female engineer in their home. That’s where you come in. This isn’t your typical engineer role, and we’re not your typical energy company.

As an apprentice, you’ll gain skills by working with our engineering teams in areas like Gas Service & Repair, Heating Installation, or Smart Metering (recruiting in most areas). We have various entry routes available in 2025 and look forward to welcoming new colleagues.

What we’re looking for:

• 4 GCSEs, including Maths & English at grade C/4 or above or equivalent
• A passion for learning a trade, a successful career, and providing excellent customer service
• A full UK driving license with 6 points or less
• Availability for training at UK-wide academies, with accommodation and travel provided if needed.

What’s in it for you:

• Starting salaries from £16,053 to £18,564, increasing with progression, up to £45,483 depending on the pathway
• Post-completion salary aligned with a fully skilled engineer or electrician, depending on the apprenticeship length
• London Weighting Allowance from £4,160 to £6,240 depending on location
