Job summary

A fashion brand in Camden Town is seeking a proactive Sourcing Buyer to help evaluate and negotiate with suppliers across Asia. The ideal candidate has extensive sourcing expertise, a strong network of vendors, and excellent negotiation skills. Responsibilities include researching suppliers, managing samples, and providing strategic guidance on vendor relationships. This role is project-based and requires independence and trustworthiness.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Buyer and/or Sourcing Specialist.
• Experience with factories in Asia (China, Vietnam, India, etc.).
• Strong organisational skills and trustworthiness.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive and well-connected Sourcing Buyer to work with us on a consulting, project-based basis. You will play a key role in helping us find, evaluate, and negotiate with factories and suppliers across Asia.

This role is ideal for someone with strong sourcing and purchasing expertise, a robust network of trusted vendors, and experience in negotiating terms, managing samples, and supporting product development.

Responsibilities:

• Research, evaluate, and recommend factories and suppliers across Asia.
• Introduce us to trusted, proven vendors and facilitate strong relationships.
• Support purchasing decisions by negotiating prices, payment terms, and order conditions.
• Assess factory capabilities, production capacity, and compliance with quality standards.
• Oversee sample development, approvals, and initial production orders.
• Advise on best practices for working with Asian manufacturers, including cultural and communication considerations.
• Provide strategic guidance on vendor selection, cost optimization, and production timelines.
• Support ongoing vendor management and relationship-building for long-term supply reliability.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Buyer and/or Sourcing Specialist, ideally with factories in Asia (China, Vietnam, India, etc.).
• Strong network of reliable supplier contacts.
• Negotiation and purchasing skills, with understanding of MOQs, production timelines, and cost management.
• Knowledge of product development processes and manufacturing standards.
• Excellent communication skills in English (additional Asian languages a plus).
• Highly organised, proactive, and trustworthy.
• Ability to work independently on a consulting/project basis and provide actionable guidance.
