Job summary

School-Home Support is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to be based at St John Wall Catholic School in Birmingham. You will deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for children and their families, focusing on attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning, in close partnership with school staff.

You will have excellent relationship-building and communication skills with experience in education settings, working with parents and diverse communities,

Qualifications

Experience in an education setting to improve attendance and engagement in learning.
Experience engaging with parents/carers, children, or individuals through individual/group support.
Understanding factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn.
Experience working with families from diverse communities.
Experience in holistic family support approaches.
Familiarity with safeguarding processes and referral routes.

Responsibilities

Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for children and families.
Improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.
Work in close partnership with school staff to support pupils and families.
