Job summary

School-Home Support seeks a Family Support Practitioner based at St John Wall Catholic School in Birmingham to deliver targeted casework, promoting educational outcomes and improving attendance and engagement. The role is term-time only, fixed-term until 9 July 2027, with 5 days per week and inset days.

Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting to improve a child’s attendance and engagement.
• Ability to engage with parents/carers and children individually or in groups.
• Understanding of factors affecting learning and attendance.
• Experience working with families from diverse communities.
• Experience delivering holistic family support.
• Knowledge of safeguarding processes and referral routes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote educational outcomes for children and families.
• Support attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning in collaboration with school staff.
• Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders (children, families, staff).
