Job summary

School:Home Support is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to work on a fixed-term basis at a Birmingham setting. Based on-site, you will deliver a programme of casework to promote better educational outcomes for children and families, focusing on attendance, punctuality and engagement.

You will collaborate with school staff, engage parents and carers, and apply safeguarding processes to support vulnerable children.

Qualifications

• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Experience in education settings to improve attendance and engagement.
• Experience engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual or group-based support.
• Familiarity with safeguarding processes and referral routes.
• Experience working with families from diverse communities and holistic family support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and families supported.
• Focus support to improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.
• Work with school staff to deliver support based at the setting.

Salary :A GBP 23,232 : A GBP 25,862 per annum ( This role is term:time only; the salary is in line with working weeks)

Vacancy Type: Fixed Term until 9 th of July 2027(5 days per week, Term Time Only + inset days)

We are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to join our team and to make a difference in childrens lives every single day. As the Family Support Practitioner, you will be based at the setting and work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will have excellent relationship:building and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people.

Youll Have Previous Experience Of

• working in an education setting or similar to improve a childs school attendance and engagement in learning
• working and engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group:based support
• factors affecting a childs capacity to learn
• working with families from diverse communities
• holistic family support
• safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children
