Job summary

School:Home Support is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to work on a fixed-term basis at a Birmingham setting. Based on-site, you will deliver a programme of casework to promote better educational outcomes for children and families, focusing on attendance, punctuality and engagement.

You will collaborate with school staff, engage parents and carers, and apply safeguarding processes to support vulnerable children.

Qualifications

Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
Experience in education settings to improve attendance and engagement.
Experience engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual or group-based support.
Familiarity with safeguarding processes and referral routes.
Experience working with families from diverse communities and holistic family support.

Responsibilities

Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and families supported.
Focus support to improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.
Work with school staff to deliver support based at the setting.
Communicate effectively with a wide group of people and build strong relationships.
