Job summary

School-Home Support is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to join our team at St John Wall Catholic School in Birmingham. The role is fixed-term until 9 July 2027, 5 days per week, term-time only plus inset days, with a salary between £23,232 and £25,862 per annum.

You will work closely with school staff to deliver targeted casework that improves attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning, and support families from diverse backgrounds while safeguarding children.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an education setting to improve attendance and engagement
• Ability to engage with families from diverse communities
• Knowledge of safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote educational outcomes and improve attendance
• Work with school staff to support children and families
• Engage with parents/carers and children to provide individual and group-based support
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in line with policy
