Overview
Yeatman Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient services supported by Facilities Services, including cleaning, catering and porter services. We are seeking an organised, enthusiastic and considerate Facilities Manager to lead a team of 28 and work with clinical and admin colleagues to provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Facilities team, ensuring responsive and flexible support to meet on-site needs.
- Carry out auditing, budget checks, payroll validation and participate in team meetings.
- Be highly visible and responsive to site issues; communicate effectively with staff, patients and visitors.
- Collaborate with other teams and specialist advisers across the Trust on local health and safety arrangements, business resilience planning, fire safety, and estates/building projects.
- On occasion, directly support facility teams as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and fire prevention within the service area.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience within the Facilities sector is beneficial but not essential.
- Full-time weekday position; ability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week may be considered.
- Driving is essential for this post.
- Excellent communication, management and leadership skills; ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to continuous service improvement.
- Ability to work independently within their authority and confidently use a range of computer systems.
- Experience in staff and budget management; health and safety responsibilities.

- This post is part of Facilities & Estates; Dorset HealthCare may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary within the next 6–12 months. The NHS subsidiary will offer NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions, including pensions, to transferring staff and new hires after transfer in 2026.
