Job summary

The Parkgate Hotel, Cardiff is seeking an experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support the leadership of our busy F&B operation and help deliver exceptional service at every guest touchpoint. You will coach the team, drive standards and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the outlet, while maintaining a guest-centric approach.

Working alongside the Outlet Manager, you will manage staffing, coordinate with chefs and other departments, monitor quality and compliance with licensing,

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience within a hotel, restaurant, bar or hospitality venue.
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing teams.
• Strong operational knowledge of Food & Beverage service.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience working within a busy, guest-focused environment.
• The confidence to make decisions and lead from the front.
• A hands-on approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good understanding of food safety, health & safety and licensing requirements.
• Experience managing rotas, stock control and service delivery would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management and operation of the Food & Beverage outlet.
• Lead,coach and inspire a team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Ensure service standards consistently exceed guest expectations.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements where required.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and team development initiatives.
• Manage staffing levels and assist with departmental scheduling.
• Work closely with chefs and other departments to ensure seamless service.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, food safety, health & safety and company standards.
• Monitor stock levels and contribute to effective cost control.
• Lead by example, creating a positive and engaging working environment.
• Support the achievement of departmental targets and business objectives.
