Job summary

M&S Opticians is hiring an Optical Advisor to deliver high-quality eye and hearing care services and drive store sales. You will help customers select frames, educate on care, and provide a seamless shopping experience within the M&S store.

The role requires a strong retail background, excellent communication, and a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced environment. Training and product knowledge will support your success in this position.

Qualifications

• Strong background in retail, customer service, or sales.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Commercial awareness and ability to maximise sales opportunities.
• Previous optical or healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Promote optical and hearing services within the store to drive appointments.
• Maintain accurate customer records and manage stock levels.
• Provide outstanding customer service and handle enquiries professionally.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses suited to their needs and lifestyle.
• Perform basic adjustments and repairs.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
• Support the fitting and dispensing of contact lenses.
• Conduct preliminary pre-tests and measurements.
• Work towards achieving store sales targets.
• Support marketing initiatives and special events.
