Job summary

Boots Opticians in Hatfield is seeking an Optical Assistant to be the first and last point of contact for customers on the shop floor. You will be based in-store, building relationships by listening to needs and guiding customers to the right glasses or contact lenses.

You’ll develop through the industry-leading 'Step Into Optics' training, gaining hands-on experience while handling dispensing, pre-screening, aftercare, and administrative tasks with strong shop-floor standards.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer care and helping customers find the right solution.
• Willingness to learn through training and development programmes.
• Experience in a retail or clinical environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Order, dispense and collect glasses and contact lenses.
• Support with eye-tests and pre-screening activities.
• Provide aftercare support through repairs and adjustments.
• Complete operational and administrative tasks associated with dispensing prescriptions.
• Maintain shop floor standards.
