A local government organization based in the United Kingdom is seeking a Social Worker to conduct strengths-based assessments and develop effective care plans. The role involves working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and requires strong communication and adaptability skills. Candidates should have a passion for helping clients achieve independence and be knowledgeable about relevant care legislation. A generous relocation package is available, including financial assistance for moving costs and training opportunities.
In a recent workshop with our customers, they emphasised that it is important for social workers to see their work as "not just a job"; they want people who genuinely care, understand, and want to help and build positive working relationships. The qualities they expect from our social workers include being respectful, trustworthy, showing empathy, being good listeners who don't interrupt, spending the time needed, doing as they say they will, thinking outside the box, being adaptable, punctual, having knowledge of what it means to be a carer, being knowledgeable and able to share this knowledge with those they work with, and overall showing kindness.
Interviews will take place over Teams, and our next panel will be Tuesday 13th January.
A generous relocation package is payable, of which up to £8,000 (of HMRC eligible elements) are free of tax. We can offer you help to move whether you are looking to buy or rent, depending on your circumstances. Our package includes:
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation where different skills, perspectives, and backgrounds strengthen both our council and the communities we serve. We also want our recruitment process to be accessible. If you need any reasonable adjustments, just let us know on your application.
