This is such an exciting role, we’ve been partnering up with this business for a while now and they are some of the loveliest people around with a genuine focus on team wellbeing and professional development. The restaurant is busy most days and the business is incredibly stable, with a view to growth in the next few years. There is a real focus on building a team here and working with people to ensure they learn and grow with them as much as possible. The team are all pretty experienced but would benefit from a leader with a firm plan for training and development – both personal and professional. Practically speaking a big focus of the role is to streamline and refine systems and processes. The Head Chef is responsible for the management of the kitchen but you’ll work closely with them to make sure standards are maintained and that budgets and targets are hit, working collaboratively on financial management.

The founding chef here is very hands on with the menu so you would work collaboratively with them on menu development, which focuses on Modern British food using the best local and seasonal produce. Services here can get very busy so you would certainly spend some of your time behind the pans with the team but with a view to ensure the overall smooth running of the business rather than being an extra pair of hands needed in service. You will meet weekly with the founding chef and work very closely with the wider operations team to over see all aspects of kitchen operations.
