Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Commis Chef in London, England to support the head chef with food preparation and cooking according to recipes and safety standards. You will manage your station, ensure cleanliness, and contribute to maintaining high food quality and presentation in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will collaborate with the kitchen team, assist with menu development, and help coach junior staff while upholding BaxterStorey values and procedures across all sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Knowledge of diverse cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation – prepare and cook dishes according to head chef recipes and standards.
• Station Management – oversee production of all dishes at your station and keep area stocked and clean.
• Quality Control – maintain high quality, presentation, and taste of dishes.
• Team Collaboration – communicate well with team and support colleagues; coaching of juniors.
