Job summary

CVS Vets is seeking an Out of Hours Veterinary Receptionist for our Chester practice. This part-time, permanent role involves evenings and weekend rota sharing, handling calls, scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and processing payments.

You will work in a supportive, animal-centered team across CVS Vets’ network. Ideal candidates bring reception or customer service experience, strong communication, and empathy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a receptionist or client-focused role is essential.
• Experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus.
• Excellent communication and empathy when dealing with clients.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently.
• Respond to queries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism.
• Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome.
• Process and manage insurance forms and payments.
• Dispense medications as required and manage debt/refunds as needed.
• Provide emotional support to clients while maintaining professionalism.
• Utilise the in-house system to organise patients and liaise with practices.
