Job summary

Croydon High School - GDST in South Croydon, Surrey, is seeking a reliable Caretaker to join the Premises team. This full-time role supports a busy campus of 20 acres, ensuring safety, security and a welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will handle site security, general maintenance, room and event set-ups, porterage, deliveries, waste management and routine health and safety checks, and you will help maintain sports facilities and the swimming pool.

Qualifications

• Practical handyperson/DIY skills required.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Experience in premises caretaking, ideally in education.
• Knowledge of health and safety, security procedures and routine preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Security, general maintenance and repairs across the campus.
• Room and event set-ups, porterage, deliveries, waste management.
• Health and safety checks and routine maintenance of facilities.
• Support the sports facilities and swimming pool, and events/lettings.
