Job summary

Croydon High School - GDST is seeking a proactive Caretaker to join the premises team on a 36-hour week, Monday to Friday, 12.00pm–8.00pm. The role covers site security, maintenance, event set-ups, porterage, deliveries, waste management and routine health and safety checks at the 20-acre campus.

You'll work across the school, supporting facilities including sports and swimming pool, helping run after-hours events, and learning from experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

• Practical handyperson/DIY skills and a positive, flexible approach.
• Experience in premises caretaking, ideally in an education setting.
• Good organisational and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site security and assist with general maintenance and repairs.
• Set up rooms and events, porterage and deliveries as required.
• Manage waste and carry out routine health and safety checks.
• Support school sports facilities and swimming pool operations.
• Assist with after-school events and lettings to ensure smooth running.
