Job summary

Very Good Security seeks a Solutions Support Engineer in Europe to act as the technical front door for European prospects and customers. The role focuses on scoping use cases, mapping payment flows, and designing scalable solutions with EU Sales, then providing ongoing technical support post-onboarding.

Ideal candidates are senior in support, integration, or solutions engineering, capable of working across Sales, Implementation, and Support while aligning with US standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical support, integration or implementation engineering, solutions engineering, or related roles.
• Strong ability to work independently as the technical expert in customer-facing roles.
• Background at a merchant, PSP, processor, acquirer, or payment infrastructure company.
• Experience with large-scale card or credential migrations and multi-PSP/payment orchestration.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, data security, privacy, and compliance architecture.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with HTTP, REST APIs, and debugging network issues.
• Ability to read and write code examples in Python, JavaScript, Java, or Ruby.
• Willingness to work EU business hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical discovery with EU prospects and customers to clarify goals, requirements, risks and gaps.
• Partner with EU Sales on technical strategy from discovery through architecture approval.
• Map payment flows across merchants, PSPs, processors, and networks.
• Architect solutions using VGS capabilities like vaulting, tokenization, and account updater.
• Guide customers on payment security best practices and PCI scope reduction.
• Produce architecture diagrams, proposals, demos, and proofs of concept; support RFIs and security reviews.
• Coach EU teams on solutioning and handoffs to Implementation.
• Coordinate with US Solutions team to align patterns and enablement.
• Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues.
