Job summary

Job description

We are recruiting a Research Ethics Facilitator to join an London University on an interim basis. The post holder responsible for the management of the ethical review processes and will be the first point of contact for researchers requiring research ethics support.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide an administrative service in the processing of applications for ethical approval
  • Review all submitted applications and assess initial eligibility
  • Perform risk assessments and triage applications to the appropriate Ethics Committee
  • Provide expert guidance to applicants on compliance with policies and legislation
  • Prepare agendas, organise, attend, and minute Ethics Committee meetings
  • Manage the ethics application system, ensuring functionality and coordinating upgrades
  • Act as delegated authority to grant or deny ethics approval
  • Maintain and update research governance webpages (ethics, clinical trials, human tissue).
  • Develop and maintain research project databases and conduct annual follow‑ups.
Experience required
  • Experience of working in a research environment, either in academic, medical or pharmaceutical environment
  • Knowledge of ethical review processes and current research ethics guidelines
  • Strong written and inter‑personal skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels throughout the organisation and externally
  • Minute taking experience with the ability to review, summarise and disseminate complex information

Salary: £45,000 (paid on an hourly rate equivalent)

Duration: 6 months

Location: London (hybrid working with 3 days on site)
