Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking a skilled ESME Application Engineer to help design, build, and qualify high-performance battery systems; you will lead manufacturing process design for the Energy Store and its Enclosure and ensure safety and quality throughout production.

You will collaborate with the ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor, perform root-cause analysis, develop work instructions, and contribute to built-in quality while applying DFMA principles and CAD

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
2+ years in battery pack assembly engineering.
Experience programming industrial robots.
Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and optimization of the manufacturing process of the Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME).
Design and analyze production processes to ensure personnel safety at all times.
Work with the Quality Department to develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures for various assembly processes including equipment planning, evaluation, and selection.
Actively contribute to the design process of the Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME) to achieve Built-In Quality.
Conduct root cause analysis for any problems found throughout the build process and communicate findings to relevant team members while documenting learnings.
Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
