Job summary

GM Performance Power Units is seeking an ESME Application Engineer to join our Concord, NC engineering team. The role focuses on safely building high-performance battery systems with quality at the core.

The successful candidate will lead manufacturing process design for the Energy Store and ESME, develop QA procedures, and contribute to product design for Built-In Quality. Collaboration across disciplines and a hands-on engineering mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in battery pack assembly engineering.
• Experience programming industrial robots and CAD software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of ES/ESME manufacturing processes.
• Ensure personnel safety through production process design and analysis.
• Develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures with QA.
• Contribute to design of ES/ESME to achieve Built-In Quality.
• Perform root-cause analysis and document learnings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Document and communicate assembly process developments.
• Collaborate with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor to meet standards.
