Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Environmental Permitting, Compliance & Nuclear Regulation specialist to support permitting and compliance projects for clients across energy, waste, industrial, manufacturing and utilities.

You will work within multidisciplinary teams, prepare Environmental Permit applications, conduct risk assessments, BAT assessments, and contribute to the UK’s transition to a low‑carbon future. The role offers location flexibility across UK offices and some travel.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Environmental Permitting Regulations and related environmental legislation.
• Experience preparing Environmental Permit applications and supporting technical assessments.
• Knowledge of energy, waste, industrial, manufacturing or utilities sectors.
• Experience conducting qualitative and/or quantitative environmental risk assessments.
• Ability to manage workload and deliver outputs to deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to explain technical information.
• Collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams.
