Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Associate Environmental Permitting Consultant to lead major permitting projects, provide strategic regulatory advice, and expand the environmental permitting offering across the UK.

You will mentor junior staff, drive business development, and collaborate with the Sustainability and Environmental teams to deliver high-value projects for energy, nuclear, industrial, and utilities clients.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory strategy.
• Expert knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations and associated regulatory frameworks.
• Strong track record delivering complex, high-value projects across regulated sectors.
• Experience developing and maintaining strategic client relationships.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting business development and winning work.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing and developing teams.
• Professional accreditation and recognised expertise within the environmental permitting field.

Responsibilities

• Lead major permitting and compliance projects for clients across energy, nuclear, industrial, manufacturing, waste and utilities sectors.
• Provide strategic environmental and regulatory advice, oversee delivery of complex technical work and grow the environmental permitting offering nationally.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to business planning, collaborating with WSP’s Sustainable Resources Discipline.
