Job summary

The University in Cirencester is seeking a Junior IT Support Desk Advisor to join the IT & Estates team. The role provides first-line support and triage for staff, students and visitors, with opportunities to grow IT knowledge and skills through exposure to software and hardware on campus.

The position is permanent, full-time, with a 35-hour week and various staff benefits. Salary starts at £23,061 and rises to £24,685, with annual leave and pension entitlements included.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to accurately gather, record and clearly communicate customer issues and needs.
• Experience in following complex, technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide first line IT support and triage to end-users (staff, students and visitors).
• Escalate to more senior team members when required.
• Involved in day-to-day operational tasks of maintenance and support for software and hardware on campus.
• Keep up to date with developments in the field and the university's requirements to grow knowledge.
