Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a Secondary English Teacher in Lincoln for daily supply and longer-term positions. You will plan and deliver engaging English lessons, aligned with the English National Curriculum, across KS3/KS4, and support student progress with evidence-based feedback.

Ideal candidates will hold QTS or an equivalent qualification, have robust safeguarding checks, and be committed to fostering a love of reading and critical thinking in diverse classrooms.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
• CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and inclusive English lessons.
• Have a strong understanding of the English National Curriculum.
• Deliver a range of English topics and concepts across KS3 and KS4.
• Develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
• Teach a range of literature and language topics, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry and Shakespeare.
• Encourage students to develop their analytical, critical thinking and communication skills.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to support pupils with diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Encourage students to engage with a wide range of texts and develop a love of reading.
• Support students in developing their written expression, vocabulary and accuracy.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing appropriate feedback and support.
• Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations and other relevant assessments.
• Ability to adapt to different teaching environments and school settings.
