Job summary

Novus, part of the LTE Group, is hiring an English Teacher in Leeds. You will deliver engaging English lessons to learners in a prison education setting, inspiring them to achieve and progress.

The role is part-time (29.6 hours per week) with a pro-rata salary between £30,208.88 and £39,648.96 per annum, and a focus on creating a vibrant learning environment within HMP Leeds. You’ll join a dedicated team committed to rehabilitation and high standards.

Qualifications

• Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months.
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Have experience in creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
• Have previous track record showing achievement of quality targets
• Have successfully produced accurate and timely reports
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Can motivate and enthuse learners
• Have organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
• Demonstrate positive team working

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Leeds, working as an English Teacher. This role is offered on a permanent, Part-time basis, working 29.6 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Leeds is a Category B men’s prison. The facility offers various programs aimed at rehabilitation and skill development. The team’s aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:
