Job summary

Novus, the LTE Group’s prison education provider, is seeking a part‑time Teacher for HMP Full Sutton. The role is a 6‑month fixed term, 0.45 full‑time equivalent, with Wednesday and Thursday work.

You will contribute to delivering engaging lessons and supporting learners in a secure, rehabilitative setting. Applicants need a teaching qualification and level 2 literacy/numeracy, plus a track record of achieving targets and reporting promptly.

Qualifications

• Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Have experience creating engaging learning environments and motivating learners
• Demonstrate ability to meet quality targets and produce timely reports
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Full Sutton, working as a Teacher. This role is offered on a 6 month fixed term contract, part-time basis, working Wednesday and Thursday.

Site Information

HMP Full Sutton is a Category A high-security prison located in East Yorkshire, approximately 11 miles from York. It accommodates around 600 adult male prisoners, many of whom are serving long-term or life sentences. The prison offers a structured and secure environment where education plays a vital role in rehabilitation. Learners are supported through a range of educational and vocational programmes.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

• Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Have experience in creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
• Have previous track record showing achievement of quality targets
• Have successfully produced accurate and timely reports
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Can motivate and enthuse learners
• Have organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
• Demonstrate positive team working
