Job summary

Novus is seeking an English Teacher to join our team at HMP Northumberland in Morpeth, Northumberland. You will deliver engaging English lessons to learners in a prison education setting and contribute to their progress and reintegration goals.

The role requires a teaching qualification and the ability to obtain any outstanding qualifications within 12 months; a Level 2 literacy/numeracy qualification is also required. The position offers a competitive salary and pension benefits with LTE Group.

Site Information

HMP Northumberland is a Category C men’s prison, located in Morpeth near the village of Acklington in Northumberland, England. The team’s aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
