Job summary

Finning (UK) Ltd is seeking a Technical Service Controller to coordinate engineers, plan resources and deliver high-quality service. You’ll bridge technical issues and the control team, ensuring jobs are scoped, prioritised and completed to standard.

You will mentor engineers, monitor performance and uphold service processes, with a strong emphasis on planning, organisation and customer communication in a 41.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Foundational engineering qualification required.
• Minimum 3 years in a technical or mechanical engineering role.
• Experience in plant/agricultural/HGV engineering is essential.
• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines and related systems.
• Strong planning, organisation and communication skills.
• Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule engineering work to maximise productivity.
• Assess and prioritise customer requests, allocating resources.
• Monitor job progress, ensuring timely completion and updates.
• Open/close work orders and support billing accuracy.
• Lead, coach, and support a team of engineers (4–8).
• Maintain strong customer communication and service standards.
