Job summary

Mott MacDonald Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Geologist for its Energy Unit in the UK. The role involves geotechnical desk studies, ground investigations, contractor oversight, and producing interpretive reports within a hybrid-working environment across Brighton or Glasgow.

Essential qualifications include a geology-related degree and experience in energy developments (T&D, renewables, nuclear), with strong English communication and willingness to travel for project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in geology, engineering geology or geotechnical engineering.
• Experience in Energy developments (T&D, Renewables, Nuclear).
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, BS standards and local regulations.
• Ground investigation site works and managing contractors on site.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Geotechnical desk studies, preliminary assessments and reviews of existing geotechnical reporting.
• Ground investigation scope/specification preparation and data interpretation for ground models.
• Investigation contractor management on site and RAM review for health & safety compliance.
• Prepare Geotechnical Interpretative Reports.
• Experience in ground modelling and integration with other disciplines.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver integrated geotechnical assessments for project delivery.
• Assess ground hazards and communicate solutions.
