Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Energy unit, delivering geotechnical services across civil and structural projects globally. You will lead desk studies, ground investigations, and model-based design, with a focus on energy infrastructure and complex projects.

The role requires chartered status and substantial consultancy experience. You will work within a hybrid UK policy, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient solutions

Qualifications

• Geotechnical desks studies and preliminary assessments.
• Review of existing geotechnical reporting and data.
• Lead technical reviews and act as technical lead for delivery.
• Understand Eurocodes and British Standards in geotechnics.
• Manage budgets, programmes and client relationships.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead geotechnical packages.

Responsibilities

• Geotechnical desks studies, preliminary assessments and reviews of existing geotechnical reporting.
• Ground investigation contract administration and data interpretation for ground models.
• On-site and office investigation contractor management with RAMs review.
• Prepare and review Geotechnical Interpretative and design reports.
• Geotechnical analysis and ground modelling for project delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines for integrated assessments.
• Assess geotechnical hazards and communicate solutions to teams.
• Support proposals and production of client tender packages.
