Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join the Energy Unit in our Brighton office. The role focuses on civil and geotechnical work across transmission, renewables, hydro, and nuclear sectors, delivering innovative geotechnical solutions for the energy transition.

You will undertake ground investigations, design reports, and ground modelling, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical inputs into project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Experience in energy developments is desirable.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, BS standards, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical desk studies and reviews of existing reporting.
• Prepare scope, specifications, and interpretation of ground investigations.
• Produce Geotechnical Interpretative Reports and Design Reports.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and ground modelling.
• Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines for integrated design.
• Assess geotechnical risks and communicate solutions.
• Travel to project sites as needed.
• Possess full UK driving license.
