Job summary

Tesco PLC is seeking an Engineering Controls Manager to shape our controls and Building Management Systems across stores and distribution centres. You will develop world-class standards, drive innovation and ensure platforms are fit for today and tomorrow.

You will lead cross-functional teams, define development plans for controls platforms, and deliver value through cost-effective, scalable solutions while staying aligned with industry best practice and legislative requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering controls, BMS or related fields.
• Proven track record delivering technical projects and managing suppliers.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Identifying opportunities to develop and improve our engineering controls platforms, ensuring they remain robust, modern and scalable.
• Creating and maintaining world class technical standards that support delivery of the annual Property business plan.
• Working cross functionally with technical, operational, IT and Property teams to deliver Group technical standards consistently and effectively.
• Understanding our existing controls platforms and collaborating with colleagues to shape short, medium and long term development plans.
• Driving continuous improvement by finding better, simpler and more cost effective solutions that create value for customers and the business.
• Building strong, productive relationships with industry experts, suppliers and internal stakeholders, influencing others to deliver great results.
• Ensuring the right technical solutions are in place to meet the current and future needs of our stores and distribution centres.
• Bringing new ideas and technical innovation to keep our controls strategy aligned with industry best practice and emerging technologies.
• Creating business cases to support trials and initiatives within your product group, contributing to energy reduction and operational improvement plans.
• Leading or supporting project design and delivery, including writing specifications within the controls and BMS sector.
• Applying a strong understanding of industry standards and relevant legislation to ensure compliance and best practice across the estate.
