Responsibilities and duties of the Engineering and Maintenance Manager role

Reporting to the Plant Manager you will:

  • Lead the Engineering & Maintenance Department, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery of engineering activities.
  • Oversee maintenance strategies, technical standards and engineering procedures.
  • Support major maintenance events, investigations and plant incidents.
  • Develop and manage departmental staff, setting objectives and monitoring performance.
  • Control engineering budgets and ensure work aligns with the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Maintain and improve the site CMMS, engineering documentation and contractor management.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex issues and contribute to site improvement initiatives.
  • Deputise for the Plant Manager and participate in the duty manager rota.
Professional qualifications
  • Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Senior E&M leadership experience in a continuous process environment.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering risk, asset integrity, ATEX/DSEAR and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with COMAH, Process Safety and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience managing budgets, technical standards and major maintenance activities.
  • Competence in CMMS use, engineering documentation and contractor oversight.

  • Highly organised, commercially aware and committed to safety.
