Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Civil & Structural Resident Engineer to join their Energy team in Birmingham. The role involves conducting site visits and inspections primarily within HV substations to ensure compliance with safety and design standards.

The successful candidate will produce detailed reports, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with diverse teams, showcasing strong engineering expertise and a commitment to energy transmission and distribution projects. A hybrid working policy and flexibility are also offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural engineering.
• Experience with electricity infrastructure, ideally NG substations.
• Familiarity with construction sites and design experience.
• CSCS/EUSR certification.
• NG Persons registration.
• Experience with DH15 reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and inspections for HV substations.
• Prepare risk assessments and liaise with site owners.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed reports including photos and sketches.
